Downloadable Audiobooks from NetLibrary

Downloadable audiobooks (eAudiobooks) from NetLibrary and Recorded Books are digital versions of audiobooks available through the Internet and played on computers and MP3 players.  You can search for, check out and download eAudiobooks to a computer or portable device, for the ultimate in convenience and listening pleasure. Over 2000 titiles are available, from bestsellers to biography, including 550 iPod-compatible selections.

Before downloading an eAudiobook for the first time, we recommend viewing one of NetLibrary's instructional demos.

Transferring an Audiobook to a Portable Device
You can transfer a downloaded audiobook to many portable devices. Click here for a list of supported devices.

As of April 1, 2009, each eAudiobook is available in one of two formats:

  1. MP3 format – MP3 files can be downloaded to a range of portable devices including iPods.
  2. WMA format – these files can be downloaded to many portable devices, but cannot be played on an iPod (iPods use the .aac file format and the .aac file format does not support the Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection required by eAudiobooks in protected WMA format.)

Renewing an Audiobook
Downloadable audiobooks can be renewed for an additional 21 days at any time in the loan period. Counting of these 21 days begins from the day of renewal.
