Today, Ridgefield Library patrons can enjoy an extensive collection of materials and services 24 hours a day,
7 days a week from anywhere they have online access with a personal computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone or
other device.  Think of it as your "Library on the Go" - all you need is your Ridgefield Library card to access literally thousands of eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, streaming music albums, digital magazines, movies and television shows.  You can also take advantage of online language learning and video tutorials on many computer and business skills. And the best part - items are returned automatically when the loan period is up, so no fines or lost
item charges!

Content is available for use on a wide range of devices, including Kindle or Kindle Fire, Nook Color or Tablet, iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, and many Android devices. Zinio is here! Now you can read complete digital magazines on your mobile device or computer. Zinio Digital Magazines for Libraries offers access to your favorite magazines provided through your library for instant browser streaming and app-driven offline viewing. Try it now!

Online Language Instruction

NEW! Try out the Pronunciator online language learning program, featuring beginning and advanced modules for 80 languages, plus extensive assistance with learning English for speakers of many languages.


Video Computer and Business Skills Training

Lynda is an online video learning resource offering more than 3,400 video courses covering a wide range of commercial software, business skills, computer programming and web development, creative and technical skills. Lynda for Libraries allows you to watch videos in small, easy-to-manage chunks, and to return to the lessons at your convenience. It is now available to all Ridgefield Library cardholders and can be accessed online – from home or at the Library (accessible from both computers and mobile devices).


Course offerings include:

  • Help with computer programs and software, Microsoft Office, Apple software, and more
  • Social media and publishing tools
  • Art, graphic and web design: everything from 3D animation to app development tools
  • Computer Programming and IT management (Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X)
  • Business and career skills: public speaking, marketing, workplace issues and more
  • Photography, video and music editing


Log onto Lynda using your library barcode and the password used to log into your Ridgefield Library catalog account (usually the last four digits of your phone number, unless you have changed it). You will be asked to create a Lynda Library account which will allow you to track your progress through your tutorials.
