Library Board of Directors
The Ridgefield Library is operated by the Ridgefield Library Association, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Directors dedicated to ensuring excellent library service to the community. The Board’s major responsibilities are to set policies and directions for the Library; manage its financial and intellectual health; and provide oversight to the administration of the Library.

Welcome to the Ridgefield Library!
We are all very proud of our town Library located right in the center of beautiful Ridgefield. Our Library offers so many wonderful things to so many people. From checking out a book to enjoying a program or taking your children to their first Library event, we strive for excellence in every facet of the services we provide. Our staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and we are housed in a building that can meet these many needs.
The Library is managed by a Board of 16 volunteers with diverse backgrounds and skills. In addition to monthly Board meetings, Board members are active on many subcommittees that range from managing the Library operating budget to developing fund raising programs. Last year, we initiated two key priorities: developing a new website and refreshing our current strategic plan. Implementing these efforts continue to be the focus for this year. We expect the website to be launched sometime this fall. In addition to these key focus areas, we are also continuing the many great programs and events you have come to expect.
Our Library has two main funding sources. We are grateful to the Town for providing 70% of our annual budget, but it is the support and generosity of all our patrons that close that gap. We need to raise more than $500,000 each year to balance our budget and continue to provide the services you expect. We are so grateful for your ongoing support. You have helped the Library to become a great resource of which we are all so proud. We thank you again for this support.

The Library Board meets on the 4th Monday of most months at 7:30 p.m. in the
Library’s Dayton Program Room.
