Join us for our Fourth Annual Love Your Library (LYL) Celebration
DATE: October 4-5, 2019
PLACE: All Around Town!
All donations received on LYL weekend will be matched by an anonymous donor and will benefit the annual operating fund of the Ridgefield Library.

Saturday, October 5: 7:30 AM-12:00 PM–Early Bird Café*, Ridgefield Running Company*, Steve’s Bagels*
*At all locations, see volunteers with Library information, bookmarks and collecting donations. Give a donation of any amount and receive free raffle tickets to bring to the Library on Saturday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM for a chance to win great prizes.
Saturday, October 5: 10:00 AM-2:00 PM–Fire House — tours and giveaways. Police Benevolent Association on the front lawn of the Library — Safety Information and giveaways. Just stop by the Firehouse or the PBA table and receive free raffle tickets to bring to the Library on Saturday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM for a chance to win great prizes.
Saturday, October 5: 10:00 AM-3:00 PM–Ridgefield Library
Stop in for cookies and apple cider and to fill out a heart-shaped note saying what YOU Love about the Library. Complete the Scavenger Hunt and receive free raffle tickets for a chance to win great prizes.
2:00 PM-2:45 PM–Performance by Danny Magic of his comedy magic show.
3:00 PM–Raffle Drawing for great prizes and awards presentation for LYL Magnet Contest.
3:00 PM-4:45 PM–Film screening of “Where the Wild Things Are” (2009) in the Leir Children’s Program Room.

**Volunteers will be accepting donations and passing out Library information and bookmarks. Codey, Emma, Kyle, and Monique have each picked one of their favorite ‘book wines,’ that is, a wine that is perfect to enjoy by itself; no pairing necessary, just the perfect, cozy accompaniment to a good book. Make a donation of any amount to the Library and receive a free raffle ticket for a basket of wine. Winners will be notified by email.

ENTRY FEE: $175/per person (over the age of 21) includes tournament poker chips, a delicious buffet, unlimited beer and wine for the evening, cigar bar and live entertainment.
SPECTATOR: $125/person (over the age of 21) If you don’t want play poker but would like to join the fun, you can purchase a Spectator Ticket which will allow you to attend and enjoy the buffet, wine, beer, cigar bar and live entertainment.

Run Like A Mother
Happening every year on Mother’s Day, this road race takes place on May 12, 2019, and includes a women-only 5K, a kids one-mile race, and post race party for the entire family. Run Like a Mother runs through Ridgefield with family members cheering their athletes on as the final mile heads down Main Street before turning into Ballard Park for a post-run celebration.
5K finishers will receive a commemorative medal and technical tee shirt. Proceeds from the race benefit the Noreen L Papa “Mothers:Live Your Life” Fund at the Ridgefield Library. Noreen Papa was an integral part of Run Like a Mother for many years, who passed away in 2013 from cancer. Programming focuses on health and wellness for the community. (Ridgefield Press 12/31/2018)
