The Ridgefield Library is delighted to announce that Lynn Caponera, President of the Board and Executive Director of The Maurice Sendak Foundation, will be honored at the 2027 Great Expectations Gala on Saturday, May 15, 2027.
A Ridgefield native, Lynn served as the longtime assistant to celebrated author and illustrator Maurice Sendak. Following his passing in 2012, she has dedicated herself to preserving and sharing his extraordinary artistic legacy.
Under Lynn’s leadership, The Maurice Sendak Foundation has expanded its educational and artistic initiatives, strengthened partnerships with local and national nonprofits, and increased public access to Sendak’s work through exhibitions, publications, and artist residency programs. Her commitment to nurturing creativity and supporting the arts continues to enrich the cultural community in Ridgefield and beyond.
